About us

Lesley Baxter came from Melbourne to the West Kimberley twenty-six years ago and was immediately taken by the country, the people and the way of life.

Since then she has worked on an Aboriginal community and cattle station running the schools, had three children and looked after many more, built homes and made gardens, run an adult education centre and managed a regional Aboriginal interpreting service.

These experiences have given Lesley access to a wide range of people from different cultures and occupations. She is therefore well-placed to advise her guests on just about anything they have an interest in. If something is beyond her knowledge, Lesley will know the right person to speak to.

The Old Broome Guesthouse reflects Lesley’s passions — meeting people, gardening, architecture, good food, environmental responsibility and sustainability. You will be in good hands at the Old Broome Guesthouse.
